Tips & Tricks to Stay Busy at Home

Spring is all about opening the windows, cleaning out the clutter, and making things fresh and new---and many of us have more time than ever to do those things now! Cleaning is also a great way to release tense or stuck energy and can lead to more feelings of peace and calm.

Make a garden

Whether it be in your backyard, on your kitchen windowsill, or on the front porch, there's always room somewhere for some potted plants or greenery of some kind! Plants and flowers not only add aesthetic appeal, but they also cleanse the air (and tending them gives us something physical to do!)





Catch up on some reading

We all have a few books on our shelves that we have been meaning to read but that have begun to gather dust overtime. Well now is the time to brush them off and get cracking! Not only will your mind stay sharp, but you'll feel accomplished when you're done!




Learn a new skill

What is something you've always wanted to learn? A new language? The game of chess? How to cook a new recipe? Now is the time to get creative and put your mind to work to create something new and expand your horizons!




Catch up on sleep

If you have the time and your body needs it, why not catch a few extra zz's? With added stress to our everyday lives, our bodies need a little extra rest, and if that is what you're craving, give it a try and see how it feels!




Meditate

Whether you're a practiced meditator or brand new to the idea, closing your eyes and doing some deep breathing can be a game changer. The practice of 5-5-7 breath can be particularly helpful to bring your mind to a more peaceful state if you're feeling restless when beginning.
